Individuals
I specialize in working with people at transitional life stages and rites of passage. From childhood to teen years, young adult into adult, mid-life, new parents and empty next parents.
I have a gentle and kind approach that is respectful, and client led. I work slowly with you, holding a soft light to welcome all parts of yourself with compassion and understanding in a non-judgmental, safe, supportive and collaborative space to help you bring about the changes you desire.
Working with me involves traditional psychodynamic “talk therapy” alongside a range of skills and modalities such as Gestalt, Theraplay, Somatic Experiencing, DBT, ACT, Focusing and IFS depending on how and what shows up for you at the time of your appointment.
It is important to know that I don’t expect you to fit a particular “theoretical model” and when you become a client, it is up for you to decide if it is a regular place to call on or a place to drop into from time to time.

Couples
I provide a space for couples that is professional, culturally safe, non-judgmental, respectful and confidential.
I work with issues that are specific to romantic partnerships such as conflicts related to intimacy, finances, parenting, infidelity or future planning.
I use a tailored approach specifically for couples which involves techniques from Emotion Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method and Imago Therapy. As well as psychodynamic psychotherapy, family systems theory and attachment theory.
My primary focus is on the relationship between you and your partner. Through a systemic perspective I work with you both to improve shared responsibility in your relationship, identify relationship patterns, build relationship skills and emotional safety through a goal-oriented approach that aims to cultivate relationship resilience towards the creation of a shared vision.
To get started, we complete an initial two-hour assessment.
From an initial assessment you can expect to get a better understanding of your roles in the relationship dynamics & patterns, how you impact your partner, clarity on unmet needs and how to better communicate what you want within the relationship and from each other.
We will also discuss whether additional sessions with me are required or if a recommendation for a more suitable therapist or services could be more helpful.

Families
I provide a space for families that is culturally safe, non-judgmental, respectful and supportive. I work alongside you to better understand what is going on within your unique family system. I aim to hold a space for everyone to feel better understood and connected.
I work with parents/carers, children and young people who ultimately want to be better understood by their family and want the relationships with each other to improve and become more sustainable.
Oftentimes families just need a space where conversation and dialogue can be firmly held in a way that is warm, impartial and goal-oriented to help them collaborate on self-corrective measures to get more of the things they want to experience together as a family.
Initial assessments are required before a family session with everyone together is booked is considered suitable.
What you can expect from an initial assessment is a better understanding of the family dynamics and patterns, relevant tools and resources and possible referral to more suitable services with myself or another recommended therapist.
